On Sunday, March 18 at 3PM, The DePaul Community Chorus will perform with the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago under the direction of Stephen Blackwelder in an open house concert. The chorus and orchestra will be performing Vivaldi's Credo and Cherubini's Requiem in C minor. The performance will be in the beautiful DePaul Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden, Chicago.
This will be an exceptional opportunity to hear the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago perform with another excellent independent musical group. Founded in 1989, the DePaul Community Chorus is truly a community chorus, comprised of one hundred and fifty members.
"Stephen is a wonderful conductor and has been conducting the The DePaul community chorus for years," says Oistrakh Symphony Musical Director Mina Zikri (who is in Egypt conducting the Cairo Symphony). "You can imagine how difficult it is to conduct a chorus of such size. He is very good with them and they love him. He is always capable of getting the best out of this group."
